80th anniversary
Among the many interpretations of Reverso produced by Jaeger-LeCoultre, some editions occupy a special place in the history of the collection. The reference 273.2.62, also known as the reference Q3732523, belongs to this category. Produced in a limited edition of only 200 copies, it was introduced as part of the celebrations surrounding the 80th anniversary of the Reverso, born in 1931.
This Grande Reverso is distinguished by a Grand Feu white enamel dial of remarkable purity. The realisation of an enamelled dial of this type requires extremely demanding know-how, each layer of enamel being cooked at a very high temperature in order to obtain a perfectly smooth and durable surface. The Breguet-style numbers are directly painted in the enamel, a particularly delicate operation that testifies to the level of artisanal execution of the piece. The blueish sword-type needles complete the set with elegance, offering a subtle contrast and excellent readability.
The rectangular 18 ct rose gold case takes up the classic proportions of the Grande Reverso. Faithful to the principle invented in 1931, it retains its reversible case mechanism to turn the watch on itself. The solid background can accommodate a personalised engraving, a function historically appreciated on this model.
The watch is powered by the Jaeger-LeCoultre 822 manufacture calibre, a hand-wound mechanical movement designed specifically for the Reverso's rectangular cases. Fine and reliable, it offers a running reserve of about 45 hours and illustrates the mastery of the factory in the development of shape movements.
This example is mounted on its original brown alligator bracelet and accompanied by its Jaeger-LeCoultre rose gold pin buckle. The set perfectly respects the original configuration of the watch.
The proposed piece dates from 2018 and is in a strictly new condition, having never been worn. It comes with its complete set including box, box, certificates and original accessories.
With its enamelled dial executed according to traditional techniques, its production limited to 200 copies and its link with the anniversary of an emblematic model of watchmaking, this Reverso is a particularly interesting piece for the lover of Jaeger-LeCoultre and classic watches with a strong heritage dimension.
